Relevant Clinical & Research Experience
Carolyn is a psychiatrist working as the clinical lead for the consultation liaison psychiatry service at the Austin Hospital. She is a director of advanced training in consultation liaison psychiatry in Victoria. She has been working with Professor Dennerstein undertaking civil medicolegal reports over the past few years, primarily assessing clients who have experienced childhood abuse in institutional settings.
She completed her training in psychiatry at the Alfred and Royal Women's Hospitals in Melbourne, specialising in psychiatric care provided to patients with physical health conditions. Since completing her training, she has pursued her interest in perinatal psychiatry through clinical work at Sunshine Hospital's Perinatal Emotional Health Program and the Antenatal Psychiatry Service at Monash Medical Centre, both services which she helped to establish. She is completing a PhD in perinatal psychiatry, examining the effect of psychiatric medications on women's physical health in pregnancy.
